First, choose the right stainless steel knife material. Due to the high cutting force and high cutting temperature used in CNC machining of stainless steel parts, it is necessary to choose carbide tool materials with high strength and good thermal conductivity.
Secondly, the roughness value should be small when the rake face is sharpened. In order to avoid the phenomenon of chips sticking to the knife, the front and flank surfaces of the tool should be sharpened carefully to ensure a small roughness value, thereby reducing the flow of chips and preventing chips from sticking to the knife.
Third, the cutting edge of the stainless steel parts tool should be kept sharp to reduce the phenomenon of hardening during processing. The feed rate and back cutting amount should not be too small to prevent the tool from cutting in the hardened layer and affect the life of the tool
Fourth, pay attention to the grinding of the chip breaker. Due to the strong and tough characteristics of CNC machining of stainless steel parts, the chip breaker on the rake face of the tool should be ground moderately, so as to facilitate the discharge of chips and chip breaks during the cutting process of CNC machining.
Finally, choose the right cutting oil. Since stainless steel is prone to sticking and has poor heat dissipation, it is very important to choose cutting oil with good anti-sticking and heat dissipation in CNC boring. Cutting oil with good performance can not only greatly improve the efficiency of stainless steel CNC machining, but also effectively protect the tool and prolong the service life of the CNC machine.
